Those of us who have decided to grow our hair out have many advantages and opportunities in the hairstyle game. We have the option to try practically any style we want to and the hair length to make it happen. I must admit 90% of the time when I leave the house I keep it natural, only running a comb through my hair – however some days I love to be creative and try one of the many long hairstyles available. Braids, side parts, fancy half up half down styles, and everything else in between!
Here are 10 hairstyles to try in 2016 for girls with medium to long hair
Both of these girly hairstyles are braids which were popular in 2015 and are set to continue being a hot choice in 2016. The first hairstyle is a normal braid with a let out side fridge to keep it casual, the second girl’s hairstyle is a double braid look which includes a side braid and a normal braid.
Personally I love anything that uses the half up half down hairstyle look. This is my go to especially if my hair is especially taggy as it means less combing – lazy, I know. The first hairstyle is basically just a high pony but its only using the top half of your hair, and the waves at the bottom make it look slightly glamorous. The second hairstyle is the classic half up half down look which can be achieved in seconds. Another bonus is that these styles are great for hot summers when you don’t want to completely tie your hair up but still want to keep cool.
Another two girly hairstyles based on the half up half down hairstyle. The first look takes the upper half of your hair and twists it into an “almost plait” before crossing over at the back of your head. Make sure to pin this up securely with bobby pins or you’ll end up with a bit of a mess at the end of the day. This girl’s hairstyle if perfect for when you don’t have time for braiding. The second girls hairstyle is messy casual look that has been sweetened up with a pretty hair piece at the back – perfect for looking girly and pretending like you don’t try to hard at the same time.
These two looks are all about keeping it simple and are great for days when you don’t have a lot of time. The first look requires a layered bang hairstyle which lets you run a comb through and hit the road, add a little hairspray for a more styled look. The second look is a high pony, perfect for summer days at the beach.
Both of these hairstyles feature curls so unless your hair is naturally curly you’re going to have to pull out your curling wand. The first look will take a bit of time to create so attempt this for a special night out. The second look is perfect for daytime use and wont take too long to recreate once you know what you’re doing. The thing to remember about making curls is that practice makes perfect – you probably wont get it right the first time but if you keep trying you will get there eventually. If it doesn’t work on your first attempt, try again a couple of days later.
